20 Apr:  We banded the season's first Black-and-white Warbler today, and saw two Nashville Warblers, which ties the early first date.  Also newly arrived was Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.

19 Apr:  An Ovenbird was an early arrival today, along with Chimney Swifts.  Two Common Loons flew overhead.  A Green Heron in the Craves yard was the first for spring, as well Tree Swallows.

18 Apr:  An early White-crowned Sparrow visited the EIC feeders, two Great Egrets were at the lake, and the elusive Northern Mockingbird put in another appearance near the Estate.

17 Apr: Our first House Wren and Savannah Sparrow were banded today; and we also saw our first Barn Swallow and Common Yellowthroat (the yellowthroat is a new early date).  A Northern Harrier flew over the lake. A Black-throated Green Warbler was in the Craves yard.

16 Apr:  Spring banding began today, with the first Swamp Sparrow of the year.
