  • Common Name: Caddisfly
  • Identifying Feature: A spirally arranged, tapered cylinder of leaf pieces.
  • Average Size of Case: 15mm
  • Habitat: Found in submergent vegetation and along stones on the sides and bottom.
  • Other Information: The caddisfly larva in figures a. and b. are strong swimmers, and are very active. The caddisfly larva in figure c. was found climbing on the stonework and would not crawl out of its case underneath the light of the stereoscope.
