  • Common Names: Midge, Blood Worm
  • Time of Year Found: All Year
  • Size of Mature Larva: 10mm
  • Habitat: Submergent Vegetation and the bottom of ponds, lakes, and rivers
  • Other Information: Midges crawl with their prolegs in a way similar to inchworms. They also collect the surrounding debris and cover themselves with it to aid in camouflage.
