  • Common Name: Water Crawling Beetle
  • Identifying Features: Larva: has small dorsal projections. Adult: Has a spot on the pronotum just before the head (not seen in picture)
  • Time of Year Found: Larva: Spring. Adult: All year
  • Size of Mature Larva: 4.5mm Adult: 4mm
  • Habitat: Filamentous Algae
  • Other Information: This beetle swims with its legs spread out, and "shuffles" through the water

  • Identifying Features: Larva: has long dorsal projections. Adult: has two small dots at base of Pronotum.
  • Time of Year Found: Larva: Spring. Adult: All year.
  • Size of Mature Larva: 4mm Adult: 4mm
  • Habitat: Filamentous Algae
  • Other Information: It swims in a way similar to Haliplus sp. by "shuffling" its legs
