  • Common Name: Predacious Diving Beetle
  • Identifying Features: Laccophilus sp. is identified by its five segmented tarsus on the fore and mid legs, the scutellum which is covered by the pronotum, and it only has a single claw on the hind tarsus.
  • Size of Mature Adult: 5mm
  • Habitat: Submergent vegetation
  • Other Information: The larval form was not found

  • Identifying Features: Larva: presence of a frontal head projection. Adult: The fore tibia is separated into four segments
  • Size of Mature Larva: 7mm Adult: 4mm
  • Habitat: Submergent vegetation, closer to the bottom of the pond
