The Chair in Armenian Studies of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has the pleasure of announcing that its thirtieth year will commence on October 13, 1996. In the coming academic year, the following courses will be offered:

  1. Elementary Classical Armenian - M. Stone
  2. Readings in Classical Armenian Literature - M. Stone
  3. Conversational Modern West Armenian - R. Ervine
  4. The History of the Armenian Church - R. Ervine
  5. Armenian Art - N. Stone
  6. Elementary Georgian - K. Lerner
  7. Georgian for Advanced Students - K. Lerner
  8. Georgian Christian Literature (Lives of Saints) - K. Lerner
Courses related to the religious and historical dimensions of the region in which Armenia is to be found will be offered in the context of Iranian Studies, History, Religion and other departments.

Armenian Studies courses are given in Armenian, English or Hebrew, in accordance with the requirements of the students. All the courses at the Hebrew University are accredited.

This year, as part of our program, we shall continue the edition and publication of all ancient and modern Armenian monuments in the Holy Land. Each month a public lecture will be given in the area of Armenian Studies in Armenian as a service to the Armenian community.
