Please contact for assistance to process insurance claims or request fine arts insurance coverage. (Fine Arts are excluded from the University's standard insurance policies and must be specifically requested prior to the acquisition of the items.)

Basic Steps to Report a Potential Insurance Claim for Processing:

  1. Immediately report the incident involving the claim to Public Safety & Environmental Health (x.3-5333) and file an Incident Report.
  2. Public Safety & Environmental Health will forward a copy of the Incident Report to Terry Ianni, Business Affairs, for review.
  3. If the incident merits a possible insurance claim, Terry Ianni will forward a copy of the Incident Report and contact the department to complete necessary paperwork to file the claim. Claims are only processed upon repair or replacement of item(s).

NOTE: There is a $1,000 deductible for insurance claims involving theft of university property and commercial crime (stolen university funds).

How to Request Fine Arts Insurance Coverage (Not Automatic; Must be Requested):

If you have fine art items, such as paintings, art glass, antique furniture, tapestries, rare books, porcelains, statuaries, or bronzes, All-Risk coverage is available under the University's insurance program. This coverage must be requested through Terry Ianni in the Office of Business Affairs (x3-5110) prior to the acquisition of the items.

Fine Arts are excluded from the University's standard insurance policies.
