3/13/07: The UM-D Men fell to Cornerstone in their final game of the season, 98-70 (more...)

2/21/07: Five of the UM-D men were named to the Academic All-WHAC, more than any other team in the conference. Senior Chris Sheperd, juniors Adam Harris, Scott Rutter, Danny Kimble and sophomore Maurice Taylor all made the 3.25 GPA cut. Rutter, a forward, was also named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team. Congratulations to all the men!

1/24/07: The Men's Basketball Team fell Wednesday night to conference foe Indiana Tech 91-82. The Wolves were flying high early as Freshman Mychael White had 2 amazing dunks, one through traffic to get the crowd on their feet. At halftime, the Wolves led 35-33. Indiana Tech fought back to tie the score midway through the second half before eventually pulling away. Senior Chris Shepard led the Wolves with 23 points. Junior John Travis had another double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Wolves next play Saturday at Aquinas College for a 3pm tipoff.

1/22/07:The Men's Basketball Team won Monday night 80-68 defeating Rochester College.  The Wolves held Rochester (11-8) to 33 points for the first half while UM-D scored 41 and continued their lead by scoring another 39 points in the second half.  The Wolves (1-5 in the WHAC, 6-10 overall) were led by Senior Chris Shepard with 22 points and 6 assists.  Junior John Travis also had a good night 18 points and 3 blocks.  The men will next face Indiana Tech.

1/17/07:The Wolves Men's Basketball Team lost Wednesday night 76-51 to Concordia.  Condordia (5-0 in the WHAC, 11-8 overall) built up an 18 point lead by halftime and never looked back.  The Wolves (1-4 in the WHAC, 5-9 overall) were led by Junior John Travis who for the second consecutive game had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Junior Brandon Franklin added 9 points and 5 rebounds.  The Wolves next battle the Panthers of Davenport University at Saturday in Grand Rapids.

1/9/07: On Monday night, the Wolves men's basketball team lost to Central State University 94-85 in overtime. The Wolves led by 5 points at halftime,
but the Marauders came back to tie the game and send into overtime. In
overtime, the Wolves could not find the basket only scoring 5 points
while Central State scored 15 points for the win. Senior guard Chris
Shepard led the Wolves with 24 points, including 6 three-pointers.
Junior John Travis added 22 points and 9 rebounds. The Wolves take on
Cornerstone University on Wednesday.

12/12/06: UMD's men's basketball beat Marygrove College this past Monday, 74-71. Five Wolves scored in double digits: junior John Travis (17), junior Scott Rutter (15), senior Chris Shepard (11), , sophomore Maurice Taylor (11), and junior Ronnie Phillips (10). Travis added 13 rebounds and Shepard, ranked 22nd in Division II in steals, contributed two steals.

12/05/06: The men's team lost to Central State University, 49-76, this past Monday. The team travels to Spring Arbor University this weekend for a two-day tournament.

11/29/06: The men's basketball team downed Andrews University 87-55 Wednesday night. The Wolves were led by senior Chris Shepard who had 23 points with 4 three-pointers. Junior John Travis had 12 points and 8 rebounds while junior Ronnie Phillips had 11 points. The Wolves led 40-33 after the first half and then held the Cardinals to 31% shooting in the second half. The Wolves improved their record to 3-1. The Wolves will play host to Central State University on Monday December 4. Tipoff is 7:00pm.
