The University of Michigan-Dearborn Lacrosse Team is entering its seventh year as a club sport. Established in the spring of 2002 the Wolves competed as an Independent Club Team. The following season the Wolves joined the CCLA, a conference of the MCLA (formerly known as USL MDIA). The MCLA is our governing body that consists of nearly 200 teams and nine conferences that spread across the country. The MCLA provides a governing structure similar to that of the NCAA. All teams within in the league follow eligibility rules, are considered in national polls, and have an opportunity to compete in the national tournament.
Within the CCLA, the Wolves compete in Division II against teams like Ferris State, Grand Valley, and Calvin College. The regular season runs from January through the end of April concluding with conference playoffs for both Division I and II. The champions from each conference will receive an automatic bid to the national tournament in mid-May. In addition, a few select teams will receive at large bids to the national tournament based on the final regular season poll.
