United Way for Southeastern Michigan Alternative Spring Break Detroit 2008

Welcome students! The University of Michigan-Dearborn is proud to partner with the United Way for Southeastern Michigan to bring you and nearly fifty other college students from across the country to Detroit, Michigan as part of United Way's Alternative Spring Break 2008 program.

During your "alternative spring break," UM-Dearborn is honored to serve as your home base as you dedicate one week of your life to helping rebuild economically-challenged communities in Detroit, Michigan.

Helping rebuild communities
Five teams of students will visit five different locations and work on projects, such as, building affordable housing, improving the quality of child care centers, neighborhood beautification projects, home renovations, agency painting projects, building ramps to provide people with disabilities a safe means of leaving and returning to their homes, and other exciting volunteer projects to improve southeastern Michigan.
