Alisa Bennett, '95
After earning her bachelor of arts degree in health and policy studies from UM-Dearborn, Alisa went on to earn a master of health services administration degree from U-M Ann Arbor's School of Public Health. Alisa has worked with Blue Cross Blue Shield for twelve years in roles of progressive responsibility focused on communications. Her current department is positioned to share the impacts of the health care law with external stakeholders, especially group customers, and prepare the internal sales force by supporting their training needs. In addition Alisa was named one of Crain’s 40 under 40 in the Class of 2012, which is an honor bestowed each by Crain’s Detroit Business to acknowledge the best and brightest in Southeast Michigan who have made their marks in business before the age of 40.
Albert Dib, '77
Albert graduated UM-Dearborn in 1977 with a B.A. in Philosophy. He subsequently graduated from Wayne State University Law School, and practices law in Royal Oak. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® (Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs; Employment Law – Individuals), Super Lawyers®, Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit, Detroit Business (Detroit’s Premier Business Journal ─ HOUR Media), and is AV® rated by Martindale-Hubbell® (Preeminent Peer Review Rating™). Mr. Dib has taught at Wayne State and University of Detroit-Mercy law schools, where he has been Adjunct Professor of Law. Albert focuses his practice in medical and professional negligence, including the highly specialized field of catastrophically injured children and Birth Trauma/Obstetrical Malpractice Litigation, and serves as a special medical malpractice mediator. He has settled numerous multi-million dollar cases and obtained the highest medical malpractice verdicts ever in Macomb and Bay Counties.
Sam Erebor, '00
Sam graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2000 with a master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering following a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and aircraft engineering from Western Michigan University. He has worked primarily in the automotive industry with all three OEMs at various manufacturing plants—a majority of his career is with Ford Motor Company. He assisted plant managers in coaching area managers on productivity related issues such as manpower allocation, constraint management, budgeting, processes, logistics, lean and continuous improvement. He also coached and mentored many industrial engineers coming through the pipeline. Also a hands-on engineer, he enjoys the challenge of figuring things out and improving on them. One example is an advanced Productivity Operating Tracking System he developed at Ford Sterling Axle plant –a pre cursor to FIS launch. Recently, Sam worked at the University of Michigan Center For Entrepreneurship in Ann Arbor’s North Campus where he developed its foundational data management tool. Sam currently serves on the Alumni Society Board and is a JDRF Advocate and Congress point man. He was named to the 2012 – 2015 United Way of Southeastern Michigan agency funding allocation review team. In his spare time Sam enjoys playing and coaching K-12 soccer.
Lynn Haliburton, '06
Lynn graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2006 with a bachelor of arts degree in corporate/public relations and minor in marketing. Through the UM-Dearborn Co-op department, she found her first public relations internship with the Detroit Medical Center in 2005. After graduation she was hired into the integrated marketing communications department for Detroit Receiving Hospital. As Marketing Representative she was responsible for internal communications, community outreach, physician marketing and creating the social media strategy for the hospital. In 2010, Lynn joined Hermanoff Public Relations as Senior Account Executive. She now manages accounts for YMCA of Metro Detroit, Believe in Detroit campaign, Dunkin' Donuts of Michigan, and Detroit Housing Commission. Lynn is also head of the social media division for the agency, responsible for crafting social media strategy, crisis plans, training and content creation for variety of clients and industries including non profits, healthcare, government, law and finance. Lynn is an advocate for Detroit and spends much of her free time volunteering at various organizations.
Eric Nemeth, '85
Eric received his bachelor of arts degree in political science in 1985 from UM-Dearborn. Eric is a partner at Varnum, Attorneys at Law and leads the Tax Practice Division, where he concentrates on tax and financial controversy, including examinations, appellate conferences, criminal investigations, witness representation and civil and criminal tax litigation. He works with government regulatory and general tax matters. Eric has served as Senior Trial Attorney for the District Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service and as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. With his vast experience with court proceedings, investigations (criminal and civil), and the appeals process, Eric, has legal experience and expertise in enough areas to serve as a great mentor to anyone interested in any legal, political or tax related career.
Sue Rasmussen, '77
Sue attended University of Michigan-Dearborn as a non-traditional transfer student, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology in 1977. While on the campus of Wayne State University attending law school, she was presented with an opportunity to join the staff at the Affirmative Action Office on a part time basis. Over the next 20 years, her responsibilities grew from program assistant to the Compliance Officer and eventually Co-Director of the office before retiring in 2000. During her tenure at the Affirmative Action Office, she worked extensively with Human Resources at the University, did a great deal of training in hiring and supervising employees and handled many of the U.S. Department of Labor compliance reviews for the office. Her vast human resources experience, especially with non-discriminatory hiring could provide great insight to a person looking for work in any field or industry.
