  • Laurel (Kolinski) Krueger ('96 B.A.) a corporate attorney who will complete her M.B.A. at UM-Dearborn in summer 2011, founded the children's T-shirt company Puppy & Bean. Inspiration for the company’s “simple T-shirts for complex creatures” came from her two sons, Nicholas, 7, and Owen, 2.   • Eric Ham ('95 B.A.) recently launched The XII Project, a nonpartisan initiative designed to create a dialogue among thought leaders about key foreign policy and national security challenges facing the United States in the run-up to the 2012 presidential elections. The XII Project’s policy team aims to promote a substantive conversation on public policy issues that will have a real impact on America’s future at home and abroad.   • Steven Guarini (’84 B.B.A) has joined the board of directors and will serve as chair of the audit committee at Leader Dogs for the Blind. He is the current accounting and audit partner for Godfrey Hammel, Danneels & Company.

  • Nazneen Uddin (’07 B.A.), a medical student at U-M, was named a prestigious Luce Scholar. The Luce Scholars Program is a nationally competitive fellowship program developed to enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society. The program provides stipends, language training and individualized professional placement in Asia for 15–18 Luce Scholars each year.
