Provost Search Press Release

Interviews will be held on campus in the next two weeks with candidates to become provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs.  The candidates will arrive for two-day visits staggered over two weeks, and will meet with individuals and groups while on campus.  In addition, the campus community will have an opportunity to meet each candidate at an open forum during their visits.

“The provost search committee recently completed our confidential interviews and we have selected four candidates for consideration,” according to biology Prof. Marilee Benore, chair of the search committee.

“Although the confidentiality of the candidates will be maintained until a short period before their arrival, we will post a brief bio and the CV of each candidate on the provost search Web site a few days before each visit to the campus,” Benore said.

“At the forums, the candidates will briefly describe why they are interested in becoming our next provost and how they hope to fulfill and advance our campus priorities.”  The forums will include time for questions and answers; each forum will last one hour and be followed by a 30-minute reception.

All of the open forums will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 1011, Institute for Advanced Vehicle Systems building.  The forums are set for Tuesday, March 10; Thursday, March 12; Tuesday, March 17; and Thursday, March 19.

“I will provide more details about the candidates before each visit, and I look forward to a strong turnout for our forums and receptions,” Benore said.
