International Orientation

 

Fall 2012 Orientation for New Students


Orientation is mandatory for all International students who are attending the University of Michigan-Dearborn for the first time.

F1 and J1 students/scholars are allowed to enter the country 30 days before their program start date.  They cannot enter after the start date.  Come early for orientation and registration.

Orientation is on several days beginning August 22.  The schedule is below.  ** indicates required attendance. 

**Wednesday, August 22, 9 am - 1pm, University Center - Kochoff  Hall.   Immigration Check In.  You must bring the following items: passport, visa, 1-94, I20 or DS-2019, U. S address.

**Thursday, August 23, 9 am - 1 pm, University Center - Kochoff Hall and Units.  Advising and Registration.

** Friday, August 24,  9 am - 3 pm, University Center - Kochoff Hall.  Government Regulations, Campus Tours, Student Organization Fair.

Monday, August 27.  Various activities

** Tuesday, August 28 and **Thursday August 30, both days 10 am - 12 noon, Fairlane Center North, Rooms 110 &111.  T.B. Testing.  You must attend both days.  Testing is on Tuesday and follow-up is on Thursday.  T.B. Testing is required for people from certain countries including China, Taiwan, India, and Pakistan.  For more information see http://www.umd.umich.edu/597/
If you miss the on-campus testing, you will need to make individual arrangements.

Fall 2012 Orientation for Transfer Students & Late Arrivals


This Orientation is for students who have been studying in the U.S. and are Transfer Students to the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  It is also for Late Comers who are unable to attend the official Orientation Program on August 22 - 30, 2012.  You must attend both days, August 29 and September 21.  The Government Regulations workshop is required for all International students new to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. 

Wednesday, August 29, 9am - 5 pm, University Center - Kochoff Hall.  Immigration Check-In, Academic Advising and Registration.

Friday, September 21, 2 - 4 pm, Government Regulations.
