Welcome
Welcome staff and students to the UM-Dearborn Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). We look forward to working with you. Your direct experiences with the children and the guidance and direction provided by the teachers will enrich your understanding of child development and early childhood education methods. Your interaction with the children will help the ECEC provide for the individual needs of each child.
Our goal at the ECEC is to help you gain confidence and competence in studying and working with young children. You are encouraged to ask questions and make comments. While you are at the ECEC you are under the supervision of a certified teacher with a specialization in early childhood education. The teachers work in cooperation with the School of Education course instructors.
On the Staff/Student Forms page above you will find packets of forms that need to be completed prior to your employment/practicum at the ECEC (you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view). Also included is a letter explaining where to get the forms completed.
