About Us

The preschool programs, for children one to five years of age, are located on campus in the three stone cottages of the historic Henry Ford Estate.  State licensing approves the number of children to 66 at any one time.  Cottage A enrolls children one-year-old and walking independently to age three.  This does not apply to children with identified disabilities for whom we will make reasonable accommodations.  Cottages B and C enroll children two and one-half years old to five years old.  The Pre-K/Kindergarten enrolls children 4 and one-half to 5 years old and is located in the module on campus.  Children are enrolled part time (with minimal full time slots available).

A maximum of 12 children per session are enrolled in Cottage A, 16 children in Cottages B & C and 22 children in the Pre-K/Kindergarten at any one time of day.  Preschool children may be enrolled for a minimum of two half-day sessions.  The program hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with extended care available from 7:30-8:00 a.m. and 5:00-5:30 p.m. for additional fees.  The program is open Monday-Friday year round during the academic terms.  The Center does not operate during University wide closings and holidays.

The Kindergarten program runs Monday-Friday.  It is a 37-week program beginning in September and ending in June following a general public school schedule.  The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but enrollment for mornings only is an option.  Extended hours (7:30-8:00 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.) are available for additional fees.
