UM-Dearborn Service Plunge

September 2009
Purpose: First-year students, incoming transfers and other UM-Dearborn community members will kick off the Welcome Week activities by immersing themselves in a two day volunteer event and project.
This year we will be partnering with United Way for Southeastern Michigan and their Ray West Memorial Ramp Project. The goal of the ramp project is to build wheelchair ramps for adults and children with physical disabilities. These ramps greatly increase the recipient's quality of life as they allow individuals to maintain an independent lifestyle and have access to their communities. Without the Ray West Memorial Ramp Project many of these families would not be able to afford these modifications to their homes.
This is a great opportunity to get to know other students and impact your local community with genuine service. For more information and history about the Ray West Memorial Ramp Project check out the website for our local United Way.
