The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is located on the Dearborn Campus of the University of Michigan. The office supports the efforts of the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Michigan-Dearborn in seeking, securing, and carrying out sponsored programs and its authority to do so is derived from the Provost and Chancellor of UM-Dearborn and the policies and procedures of the University of Michigan. The office works in collaboration with the Division of Research Development and Administration (DRDA), the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), Office of Contract Administration (OCA), and the Office of Sponsored Programs (Financial Operations), these being central administrative offices of the University of Michigan.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs assists University of Michigan-Dearborn faculty and staff prepare and submit proposals for sponsored programs (also called "grants and contracts").
This office is the point of contact for all grant matters on the Dearborn campus and we are the liaison between Dearborn faculty and staff, external sponsors, and administrative offices in Ann Arbor. We assist faculty researchers and department administrators with grant administration, accounting, and other post-award issues.
We oversee research compliance matters, such as protection of human subjects in research (whether funded or un-funded research), export control, and conflict of interest in sponsored programs.
